Automated Giving Program

What is an Automated Giving Program? This is a program that allows you to authorize St. John Vianney to automatically deduct regular offertory collections directly from your checking or savings account. It is similar to programs offered by utility companies and banks to automatically pay your utility bills and mortgage payments.

Only regular Sunday offertory collections are included in this program. All other envelopes for special collections and holydays should continue to be used.

How do I enroll? Enrollment is easy and free. Simply click here to print out the enrollment form, complete and sign it, attach a voided check or savings deposit slip and then return it to the parish office. That is all there is to it.

Tell me more about the whole process. Once the form is received at the parish office the information on it is verified for accuracy and completeness. Your contributions are then set up in the computer to occur on the dates you have specified. On the specified dates, the amount you indicated is deducted from your account and credited to St. John Vianney. These deductions show up on your regular monthly bank statement as automatic transactions. St. John Vianney records these credits to your parish contribution records exactly as they would a paper check contribution.

You will receive a confirmation note from the parish confirming that the deductions have been set up so you can verify its accuracy.

When will my automatic contributions start? Contributions will start on the next contribution date that you specified. It takes a few days to process the request and the exact date will be indicated in your confirmation letter from the parish.

What do I do with my Sunday offertory envelopes? You no longer need to use your Sunday envelopes. If you want to put an envelope in the basket, simply seal it without putting a check or money in it, write "Automatic" on it and put it in the basket. Once we see how many people sign up for the program, we may be able to offer envelope sets that don't contain any for Sunday collections.

Continue to use all the other envelopes that are in your envelope packet.

How do I change or cancel my enrollment? This is done simply by submitting a new enrollment form with new or changed information or with the Cancellation section completed.

What accounts can I  make contributions from? Automatic contributions can only come from checking or savings accounts. They cannot be made from debit or credit cards.

Can I receive receipts for tax purposes? All automatic contributions will be recorded in the parish contribution system. Year end contribution statements can be requested and will be mailed to you. In addition, by Federal Law, any individual contributions of $250 or more will be acknowledged by the parish with an individual contribution letter.
